Alistair Wylie, Independent Board Member
Alistair has over 30 years of experience working in the education sector. Until 2021, he was Head of Service (Qualifications) at the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) where he was employed for 18 years in a variety of national roles. During this time he delivered several large-scale national change projects and oversaw the successful delivery of the annual school examination diet.Prior to this he worked as a teacher and lecturer for 10 years in both the secondary and further education sectors having trained at Jordanhill College. He also holds degrees from the University of Strathclyde and the University of Stirling. He has extensive curriculum and qualifications development, and awarding experience at national level and engagement with national frameworks including the UK, USA, the Middle East and South Africa and has built a strong profile in the international credential evaluation community. As a published author, he has written over 15 educational textbooks for Hodder Gibson over a 20-year writing career.
Alistair is now Managing Director of Bell-Wylie Consulting and Credential Evaluation and serves on several boards as a Non-Executive Director including Chair of the Scottish Schools Education Resource Centre (SSERC) and Vice-Chair of greenspace scotland.
He is currently working on a large government education and capacity building project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
