I work within the Business Team engaging with local and national employers to promote and encourage work-based learning.
At UHI Perth we deliver Modern Apprenticeships within 7 sectors – Construction (Joinery, Plumbing and Electrical), Automotive, Business Admin and Customer Services, Engineering, Hospitality, Hairdressing, and Social Services and Healthcare. The support network for our students is key and all our work-based students can access the same support as college students.
Every day is different, I could be in a school talking about Modern Apprenticeships and the next step of someone’s career and the next day I could be talking to training manager of a local business suggesting way to offer training to upskill the staff. It’s also really nice to watch candidates achieve their certificates and move up the career ladder.
We are always on the lookout for funding initiatives and support for the local economy as well as partner with other training provision locally to make sure we are delivering what’s required.
