The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Centre based at UHI Perth repairs, reuses and recycles IT and office equipment and mobile phones.

Welcome to Perth WEEE Centre, based at UHI Perth Campus, we refurbish, resell and recycle e-waste.

We want to continue to increase the volume of IT and office equipment that we divert from landfill, raising awareness of e-waste re-purposing and recycling, supporting our students and providing affordable refurbished IT equipment for sale to students, staff and members of the public.

Give your unwanted e-waste a new home

Do you have IT equipment or mobile phones getting dusty at home or at work? If it’s too good to throw away, or even if it is no longer working, it can be refurbished for reuse or recycled for parts.

We accept either working or damaged IT and office equipment including desktops, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, keyboards, mouse controls, cables, DVD and video players, portable music players, games consoles, printer cartridges, batteries, projectors and flat screen working monitors, but not CRT (cathode ray tube) or broken monitors.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any other equipment that you wish to donate.

Every item we receive supports our work providing training and other opportunities to students, local and international charities. By selling refurbished equipment it also helps people who might not have otherwise been able to afford IT equipment.

Donate at our container at Friarton Road Recycling Centre, Inveralmond Recycling Centre, Kinross Recycling Centre or directly to the WEEE Centre, details of further collection points coming soon. We can also arrange pick-ups for larger donations.

Security and warranties

All donated equipment has data securely removed using special software. Items for resale are sold on with 30 day warranty and OS installed.

Benefitting Students and Charities

We operate for the benefit of the students at Perth College UHI, providing valuable work experience to computing students to gain hands on experience of fault finding, repairing IT equipment and employability skills in a real work environment.

This opportunity takes the students out of the lecture theatre, giving them the freedom to learn in a practical environment, which recognises and values their skills. We also offer scholarships to Computing students.

"I am enormously proud of myself. I received the WEEE award for excellence this year. This is such a good feeling, to be rewarded after working so hard.  The confidence that I lacked at the beginning of my work experience has become excitement for the subject. I enjoyed every minute and it’s something I will never forget."
