Engineering Practices NQ Level 5
What is special about this course?
The NQ5 Engineering practice course contains a mixture of practical activities and classroom-based activities. The primary focus of the course is to provide students with a range of engineering practical skills supported by relevant theory where appropriate. As such this award is suitable for those candidates who wish to become skilled crafts persons/trades persons in a wide range of engineering disciplines. Successful study will give you a solid grounding in the fundamentals of engineering and allows you to progress to a higher level of study, likely at NQ Engineering Systems Level 6.
Entry requirements
We ask that you have Nat 4 Maths, and you will be invited to discuss your application with us.
Your application and interview will form part of the selection process. Applicants wishing to progress from NQ Engineering Skills must have ‘Mathematics for Science 1’ as part of their award.

- Fabrication Skills

What can I do on completion of my course?
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto NQ Engineering Systems (SCQF Level 6) provided your award includes Mathematics Craft 1 and 2, Electrical Principles and Mechanical Engineering Principles. Alternatively, you can enter employment within the engineering industry.
