What is special about this course?
This course provides you with an ideal introduction to a career in science, technology, biotechnology or in health related studies. As well as an excellent grounding in a variety of scientific fields, it will also give you the skills and knowledge you need to have before you can go to university.
This course is a SWAP (Scottish Wider Access Programme) which supports adults, ordinarily resident in Scotland to return to education after a gap. It will help you to develop the skills you need to progress into Higher Education, to a wide range of HNC, HND and degree level courses.

Entry requirements
Students must have been out of full-time education for at least 3 years if they have studied to SCQF Level 5 and 5 years if they have studied to SCQF Level 6 or above.
You should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in studying science at university. A minimum of three passes at SCQF Level 5 or equivalent, including Biology, are desirable, as is some previous chemistry experience. The success of your application will depend on interview.
You can tailor this course to suit your interests. Topics include Biology; Human Biology; Chemistry; Environmental Science; Mathematics and English

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
What can I do on completion of my course?
The Access programme should open up higher level study options including the HNC Applied Sciences.
This course prepares you for a wide range of career options in science, physiotherapy, podiatry, technology and health based industries. Further study may be open to you at degree level in science, technology, environmental or health related science fields.
