Hairdressing (Work-based) SVQ3
What is special about this course?
Learn while you work with Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs). Modern apprenticeships in Scotland are available for people who are aged over 16 and in employment. With on-the-job training and regular meetings in the workplace you can gain a recognised qualification without studying full-time. Funding for MAs can be gained from Skills Development Scotland.
This SVQ 3 Hairdressing qualification will provide you with advanced knowledge and technical skills in hairdressing which you can use to find work at a supervisory level.
Entry requirements
You should have an SVQ Hairdressing Level 2 certificate or equivalent, or at least three years salon experience as a Junior Stylist. A minimum of three qualifications at SCQF 4/5 or equivalent are preferable and you should be currently employed full-time in a salon.
This 18 month programme covers a range of higher level skills in hairdressing, including study of: advanced colouring techniques; colour correction; styling and dressing long hair; advanced cutting and planning and implementing promotional activities.
