College Professional Services staff see pay dispute resolved
College professional services staff will enjoy a summer boost after a long-running UNISON trade union dispute has been settled.
This announcement comes after months of action in colleges across Scotland over pay, job security and pay harmonisation.
Dr Margaret Cook, UHI Perth Principal and Chief Executive said: “We’re delighted the UNISON trade union dispute has been resolved, meaning our professional services colleagues will see the agreed pay offer backdated in their July pay. We appreciate the efforts of all parties involved in reaching this positive outcome.”
UNISON is the main union for support staff working in further education colleges. Members include employees vital to college services and student support in roles such as librarians, IT specialists, technicians, administrative and business support staff, cleaners, canteen workers and estate management staff.
