New courses to improve employment prospects

A suite of new courses accredited by Microsoft will appeal to anyone looking for an additional qualification for their CV or to improve their employment prospects.  Our network of learning centres across Perth and Kinross is launching Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) qualifications which combine Microsoft’s official e-learning courses and online study guides with practice tests and the exam.

MOS certification is an increasingly popular qualification for people looking to stand out in today’s tough economic conditions. For employers, the certification provides skill-verification tools which can help to assess a person’s skills in using the Microsoft Office suite of software.

Rhona Munro, Perth College UHI Head of Learning Resources explained: “MOS is the only performance-based certification which validates the skills needed to get the most out of Microsoft Office. The flexible approach offered by our Learning Centres will open-up access to the MOS certification, allowing learners to fit study around work and family commitments and helping them to stand out in today’s competitive job market.”

Each course combines Microsoft’s official e-learning courses and online study guides with practice tests and the exam itself. Qualifications are available in Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
