Under the Hidden Disability Sunflower scheme, people with such disabilities can choose to wear a lanyard bearing a sunflower logo as a subtle way of letting others know that they may require additional support, assistance or a bit more time.

Becky Angus, Additional Support Administrator explained: “The fact that students and staff of Perth College UHI can access this scheme free of charge is demonstrative of our commitment to parity and equality of all - in terms of access to our buildings, provision and curriculum. This is especially welcome to our students and staff in these challenging times.”

Hidden disabilities don't have physical signs and include learning difficulties, mental health as well as mobility, speech, visual or hearing impairments. They can also include asthma, COPD, and other lung conditions as well as chronic illnesses such as renal failure, diabetes, and sleep disorders when those diseases significantly impact day-to-day life.
