Scottish Budget

Commenting on the draft Scottish Budget for 2020 - 21, published on Thursday 6 February by the Scottish Government, Dr Margaret Cook, Perth College UHI Principal and Chief Executive, said:

"We welcome the Scottish Government’s Draft Budget as it demonstrates commitment to investing in the college sector. The largest revenue increase in over ten years - a 5.52% cash terms increase from the previous year - we are pleased the crucial role colleges have in delivering learning opportunities to almost 265,000 learners has been recognised.

“Although the Audit Scotland’s report, Scotland’s Colleges 2019 outlined the serious financial challenges we face, this increase in revenue resource budget will support Perth College UHI’s mission to developing our student’s knowledge and skills to succeed, ultimately supporting the economic and social growth of our region and beyond.”
