Shortlisted for two national awards
We are thrilled to be shortlisted in the College Development Network CDN College Awards 2023 in two categories.
We have been recognised for our project 'Inspiring Sustainable Action’ which details UHI Perth's Library Environmental Hub activities, established to promote a sustainable future. The Hub aims to inform, inspire, and involve students and staff through its diverse resources and connections with local environmental organisations and charities. It offers a curated reading list covering academic papers, inspirational writings, and resources for different age groups, promoting sustainable living ideas and showcasing the efforts of individuals and organisations dedicated to protecting natural resources.
The other shortlisted project considers 'Are Personal Academic Tutors (PATs) Necessary?' A UHI Perth group decided to investigate and gather data both qualitative and quantitative. This research included students, staff – both academic and support, as well as UHI partner Colleges and other colleges in the sector being asked for their opinions, advice and experience. The outcome evidenced investment in the PAT role led to improved student retention and increased student experience and satisfaction rates.
The Awards recognise the talent, innovation and achievement demonstrated by colleges, their staff and their learners. This year, 154 inspiring projects were submitted, highlighting the fantastic work of Scotland’s colleges.
