Ukrainians from across the nation are being invited to a range of activities showcasing Ukrainian and Scottish culture, including a parade through the city centre and music and dance on the North Inch.

Strathallan Councillor Steven Carr, who was recently awarded an MBE for his work with the charity Dnipro kids, has been working with members of the Ukrainian community across Scotland to organise this year's celebrations. He said: “I'm very pleased to see UHI Perth involved in the Ukrainian Independence Day event. There are many displaced Ukrainians who are continuing their education, and improving their English here, and we are grateful for the support. In particular, allowing our Ukrainian community the opportunity to utilise the amazing kitchen facilities to provide a range of delicious dishes for the event is very much appreciated."
