UHI Perth has signed up to the LGBT Charter of Rights.

By doing so we are showing our commitment to ensuring that LGBT people in our college are included, valued, supported and will be treated fairly when they access our services.

Achieving the LGBT Charter of Rights will help demonstrate our commitment to LGBT people in the local area by supporting them to identify their rights.

The Charter will help us look at our policy and practice, including our legislative obligations in the context of LGBT equality.

We will be able to display the Charter when we have adequate mechanisms in place to validate and support it, such as equal opportunities policies and group agreements, staff training and information available on LGBT issues.

By displaying the LGBT Charter of Rights, we will send a positive message to LGBT people in our area that they are included, valued, supported and will be treated fairly when they access our service.

We will also make it clear to other organisations and service users that equality and diversity is at the heart of our service.

Displaying the Charter will reassure people that our workplace is a safe and supportive place for LGBT people.
