This course provides experienced plumbers and heating engineers with the practical and theoretical knowledge required to effectively install a Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW) heating system.

The aim of this course is to provide experience plumbing and heating engineers with the practical and theoretical knowledge required to effectively install a Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW) heating system and to assist in MCS accreditation.

Course Content

The course covers all the information needed to choose, install and maintain solar domestic hot water heating systems including:

  • Comparison of different types of solar collectors
  • Solar collector installation and plumbing requirements
  • Commissioning solar thermal systems
  • Maintenance and fault finding
  • Health and Safety
