Background

My career before joining UHI Perth was based in early years, where I worked for Angus Council as an Early Years Practitioner. I also had experience working as a Childminder, before becoming a Child Care Manager in 2009. In 2014, whilst working as a manager, I took up a role at Perth College UHI as a SVQ Assessor for the Early Learning and Child Care department. In January 2015, I started lecturing a few hours a week. I really enjoyed the challenge this presented and decided it was time for a career change. I eventually had a split post which involved lecturing and assessing and soon after gained my Internal verifier award. In 2020, I became a full-time lecturer.
