Roles

  • Chef Lecturer

Neil started as a part-time chef lecturer in 2008 whilst still working in the hospitality industry as a Pastry Chef and taught the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in a career as a chef. This involved producing cakes, pastries, breads, biscuits, and desserts along with many of the other practical and theoretical aspects involved in training to be a Chef.

In 2017, Neil moved from working within the sector to becoming a full-time lecturer by gaining teaching qualifications and skills required to work as a Chef lecturer in Scotland’s colleges.

Students generally look forward to the cookery/ pastry classes as he has a supportive teaching style, is approachable, and delivers lessons using knowledge current and relevant for students’ preparation for a successful career within the industry.
