Research Interests

My research interests include social geography, particularly place-making through recreational activities; experiential cultural landscapes; interpretation of cultural heritage; and public and community archaeology.

  • Vindolanda Museum and the Roman Army Museum – A Heritage Lottery Fund supported £6.3 million redevelopment and interpretation project
  • National Museums Northern Ireland – Plantation to Powersharing. Exhibition evaluation and community engagement research project to inform the redevelopment of the galleries in Ulster Museum which deal with the history of The Troubles to the present day.
  • Erasmus+ Tourism Education in Iceland Project to develop tourism education in Iceland with Háskólafélag Suðurlands and the University of Malaga. Website: www.tourope.net

Outside of work, I enjoy running long distances up hills and mountains!
