This unit is a selection of entry level pick and mix units. Designed for those with little previous knowledge these units will allow you to develop skills and knowledge in the areas that are most relevant for you, whilst potentially working towards further recognised qualifications.

Learn how to use desktop publishing software designed to combine and manipulate text, image and graphic elements in layouts appropriate for subsequent publication to screen or print.
There are three learning outcomes to this unit. At the end of the course you will be able to:
- Use appropriate designs and page layouts for publications
- Input text and other information into a publication
- Use desktop publishing software techniques to edit and format a publication

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
What can I do on completion of my course?
Once completed you may progress onto other units, potentially achieving Level 2 Award for IT User, to achieve this award, you must complete the folloiwng mandatory units:
- IT User Fundamentals plus one other unit from the following;
- Word Processing Software
- Spreadsheet Software
- Presentation Software
- Database Software
Yoy may also be able to progress onto other units, potentially achieving Level 3 Certificate for IT Users, to achieve this award, you must complete the following mandatory units:
- Online Basics
- IT User Fundamentals
- Using Email
- Using Internet
Plus any 3 additionnal units:
- Word Processing Software
- Spreadsheet Sofware
- Presentation Software
- Database Software
