International Women’s Day Sports event
UHI Perth Sport and Fitness hosted an International Women’s Day event yesterday on 8th March.
A host of impressive female sporting personalities shared their experiences in a well-received ‘talk show’ format at Brahan Lecture Theatre.
Rangers FC Women and Girls Manager Amy McDonald, 30 times capped for Scotland, hosted the event which also saw Sam Milne of Scottish FA, Shona Campbell a Scotland and GB7s rugby international, Molly Sands of Perth High School and formerly of sportscotland Young Person Sports Panel - and our own UHI Perth lecturer Rebekka Findlay who is a Scotland badminton international with a major research area in how the menstrual cycle impacts athletes.
Also in attendance were Laura Watt who won Gold at the World Junior Curling Championships last weekend and Lois Garland who took home Gold in the Scottish Student Athletics indoor 200m recently.
