Perth College UHI Basketball Team Runners Up At Tayside & Fife Basketball Cup

Following their undefeated National College Championship qualifying game last month, the Perth College UHI Basketball team took part in the Scottish Student Sport’s second event of the 2016 regional calendar, the Tayside & Fife Basketball Cup. Hosted at the University of Dundee ISE, there were 6 men's teams who took part on Wednesday 10th February.

Perth College UHI started their day with a comfortable 23-4 win over Dundee & Angus College 2s. The host institution started well winning their first match but fell at the second hurdle when they went down 6-10 to Perth College UHI.

As the afternoon progressed it became a 3 horse race for the title between The University of Dundee, The University of St. Andrews and Perth College UHI. It all came down to the final set of matches and despite Perth College UHI beating Fife College 16-10 it was not enough for them to claim glory as The University of St. Andrews remained unbeaten for the day winning their final match 12-7 against the University of Dundee.

The teams demonstrated impressive basketball throughout the afternoon with a number of closely fought matches all played in fantastic spirit.

T&F Basketball Cup Winners for 2016 are the University of St. Andrews and runners up are Perth College UHI.
