sportscotland Searching for Inspirational Young People to Speak Up for Sport
sportscotland are looking for a group of 16 young people to speak up for sport. The panel will work with sportscotland and Young Scot to help influence and shape sport in Scotland.
Applications open from Monday 25 January for the 2016-2018 Young people’s sport panel.
sportscotland are looking for a group of 16 young people to speak up for sport. The panel will work with sportscotland and Young Scot to help influence and shape sport in Scotland. In particular, more applications from young people from a wide range of backgrounds including SIMD areas and those with protected characteristics would like to be seen.
Criteria for applying:
- Aged 14-25 and living in Scotland
- Passionate about improving opportunities for all in sport
- Want to provide a voice for young people in sport
- Able to commit 3 hours per week
- Want to make a difference
- Able to work on your own or part of a team
Being part of the sport panel is a great opportunity for a young person; over the years the experience has made a positive difference to the lives of past and present panel members and they have made an important contribution to Scottish sport. The sport panel have been involved in a range of activities supporting the development of projects like School Sport Awards, young hub leaders, attending and contributing to workshops and conferences, contributing to discussions to influence and support decision making and creating content for the web and social media to raise the profile of sport. Not forgetting the opportunity to make great friends and have brilliant experiences in a team of like-minded individuals.
