Students support local groups
NC Administration students benefit local groups
NC Administration students ran a number of events to benefit a number of local groups as part of their coursework. The groups the students chose to support included @Scott Street, raising £145, used to buy groceries and toiletries for young people who contact Youth Services needing help. Gift cards were also purchased to buy food for young people in need.
They also collected for Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS), raising £116. Representative Joanna came along with dogs Lucy and Eddie to receive a cheque and also items that had been collected by HNC Administration and Information Technology students.
Finally, a raffle and tombola were held in College and £388 was raised which was given to Perthshire Young Carers.
Isla Kinnear, Lecturer explained: “The students start on this unit at the beginning of the year when they’ve only just met their fellow students. It is a real journey for them getting to know each other, working together and using their administration, organisation and creative skills to put on an event. I am very proud of the work that they have done and the support that they have been able to give to local organisations this year”.
