A Perth College UHI student has been shortlisted for a national award in recognition of his efforts to improve the student experience.
Current BEng (Hons) Aircraft Engineering student, Alessandro Atzori has been shortlisted for ‘Outstanding Contribution from a University Student’ at this year’s Herald Higher Education Awards. The awards celebrate ‘the extraordinary things that are going on in universities and colleges across Scotland’.
Lecturer Calum Aird explained: "Alessandro’s commitment and dedication to his academic studies cannot be underemphasised. He gladly accepts any challenge and will always put his greatest effort in to completing and achieving to his fullest potential."
Alessandro added: “Being shortlisted for the Herald Awards means an important recognition to me, a stimulus to self-improvement, both as a committed Engineering student and as an active member of the University community.”
UHI Inverness were also shortlisted in the Supporting Student Wellbeing category. The awards help to build future excellence by highlighting innovation in teaching and explore how colleges and universities market themselves, support students, and engage with employers, as well as recognising those amazing students who make a significant contribution to student life as well as academia.
The awards evening will take place on Tuesday 31st May at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.
