UHI Perth Celebrates Outstanding Contributions in Teaching, Research, and Leadership

David Paterson Appointed Associate Professor of Audio Engineering

UHI Perth is proud to announce the appointment of David Paterson as Associate Professor of Audio Engineering. David, who leads the BSc Audio Engineering programme, has made significant contributions to the music and media industries. His distinguished career includes work on albums, films, radio, and television, collaborating with renowned artists such as members of the Smashing Pumpkins and Queens of the Stone Age. He has engineered sessions for notable musicians including Rufus Wainwright, Christina Aguilera, and Texas.

David's work has garnered critical acclaim, earning him a Mercury Prize nomination and a British Blues Award. He spent seven years engineering BBC Radio One sessions for bands like Biffy Clyro and The Darkness, and has contributed to projects for Paramount, Universal Pictures, and UK television. His extensive industry experience brings invaluable insight to his teaching at UHI Perth.
