UHI Perth Shortlisted for Three Categories in The Herald Education Awards 2025
UHI Perth has been proudly shortlisted for three prestigious categories in The Herald Education Awards for Further and Higher Education 2025.
The categories are:
- Supporting Student Wellbeing Award - The Big Project
The Big Project is a student wellbeing initiative designed to tackle food insecurity and financial hardship, ensuring that no student has to choose between their education and basic necessities.
- Outstanding Contribution from a Staff Member - Ian Turnbull
Computing Subject Leader Ian, was nominated for the award by his students, recognising his excellent teaching and passion for sharing his enthusiasm and expertise.
- Outstanding Contribution from a University Student - Holly Richardson
Holly was recognised for being an exceptional and dedicated science student who has transformed challenges into opportunities, showing her resilient nature.
With record numbers of institutions, projects and individuals making it through to the next level, a spokesman for the panel said the judges were “delighted and hugely impressed,” by the quality of entries across all categories in this the 10th year of the awards.
A total of 18 separate awards will be handed out during the ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, 29 May at the Radisson Blu hotel in Glasgow in front of an audience of influential and inspirational figures from across Scotland’s higher and further education sectors.
