Inspired by STEM careers
Perth College UHI teamed up with companies including Leonardo, Cirrus, the RAF and volunteers Dave Black and Andy Firth to inspire girls to consider future careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Pupils from Kilgraston, Strathallan, Pitlochry High and George Heriot’s School and Morrison’s Academy saw the exciting opportunities for themselves as they took part in hands-on workshops firing rockets and saving jelly babies using handmade motorised rescue vehicles.
Eileen Black, UHI Perth STEM Education Officer explained: “This successful event allowed us to bring STEM careers to life for young girls and give them the opportunity to network with STEM businesses and other schools.”
