Perth College UHI selects new Charity of the Year
We are delighted to announce that this year the Staff Engagement Committee have selected Perth College Development Trust as their chosen Charity of the Year.
The Development Trust are raising funds for a range of projects to support anyone in need. Some of the projects that will benefit are:
The Student Hardship Fund
This fund was created to support students impacted by the Covid pandemic, and as we emerge - many students are still suffering from financial difficulties. Many lost their jobs. leaving them struggling to pay their rent and food. Thanks to generous donors we managed to help over one-hundred students which has been a lifeline for so many.
To be able to continue to respond in the future, we would like to create a pot of funds which would be available for any Perth College UHI students who find themselves struggling. A quick response to situations as they occur may prevent students from dropping out of their course due to money problems.
Scholarships
By providing a scholarship it can be extremely rewarding and can transform peoples’ lives, creating employment opportunities to help them succeed in their career.
Our Scholarship Programme is designed to support students who are committed to their studies and are keen to develop their skills to reach their goals. A gift of this nature enriches the student experience and has a great impact on the individual, giving them the confidence to realise their full potential and go on to enjoy an even more rewarding career.
Community Wellness Garden
With mental health increasing, we want to create a garden to promote physical activity and psychological wellbeing among our students, staff and community.
If you wish to be part of these exciting developments and make a genuine impact on our students, the Perth College UHI community and the wider region, then we welcome any help to raise funds for the charity.
